The Role of a Cloud Support Associate Engineer at Canonical

As a Cloud Support Associate Engineer, you will solve interesting and complex technical problems. From triaging cloud environment issues to performing root cause analysis on Linux kernel crashes, you will provide expert-level support and satisfaction to our customers.

Responsibilities include managing support cases, ensuring timely and high-quality resolution, and contributing to our knowledge base. You will work remotely, providing technical support, drafting technical notices, and maintaining regular communication with your team.


What Your Day Will Look Like

  • Work from your remote home office to provide technical support.
  • Take ownership of new cases via telephone, email, and web.
  • Act as an internal customer advocate, ensuring timely updates.
  • Ensure support cases are handled according to SLAs.
  • Contribute to and maintain knowledge base articles.
  • Draft and distribute technical notices.
  • Prioritize tasks to accomplish urgent and important work first.

What We Are Looking For in You

  • Bachelor's or equivalent four-year degree in a technical field.
  • Experience with Linux troubleshooting and server administration.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing concepts.
  • Basic hands-on experience with virtualization, containers, storage technologies, and networking.
  • Programming fundamentals in languages like Bash, Perl, Ruby, JavaScript, C, C++, or Go.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
